The Tour is set for
a maximum of 64 players per event.
All Main and Flight events will be run Wednesday to Saturday
All Stroke with Cuts will be run Thursday to Sunday
All Zero Skill will be run Friday to Sunday
The first two weeks are public qualifiers posted on XSN,
these tournament results will determine which flight you will start in. Note that I said, START in, as your weekly performance may move you up or down in the flight tournament ladder.
After these events there will then be two private invitation
only tournaments for you to play each week, a separate 4 round tournament for both Advanced and Intermediate players on the tour and a 2nd private Flight
A tournament for the top 12 and a second private Flight B/C for the
remaining players in the Tour. See the schedule page at XSNLINKS.COM
for more information:)
If you play well or badly enough you will be moved up or
down between the two Flights based on average score. This format will run for 10 further weeks
and at the end of that time we will enter into a 3 tournament final round for
the top 32, with the field being cut to 16 for week 2 and the final week 8
from which the XBOXLIVEWORLDTOUR Advanced and Intermediate champions will be
crowned!
All events will be run privately except the qualifiers,
with invites going out 3 days before the start date. Once your scores have posted at XSN Sports
AND at the XSNLinks.com website you are able to quit the competition early
if you wish. We hope to update scores at least once and hopefully twice daily,
but in any case please try to allow up to 24 hours for us to get your score
on the webpage, we want to make this work as much as you do, but we have jobs,
wives etc. as well. If you have any issues please don't bombard us with email.
Use the Forum at XSNLinks.com as we plan to be there regularly.
Points will be awarded depending on your finishing position,
everyone that finishes will receive points. The points breakdown is as follows: Thanks to ScBruins for the scoring system
All 64 player weekly main events
1. 3000
2. 2900
3. 2800
4. 2700
5. 2600
Points will decrease by 100 for each place lower to the limit of the field in each event, but in no instance will anyone receive less than 100 points for playing.
The 4th, 8th and 12th week events will be considered Major Tournaments and while the conditions are expected to be more difficult than the regular weekly rounds the reward is much greater for every finishing player.
Points for all Major events will be doubled, with the winner receiving 6000 points and decrease by 200 for each place lower with no one receiving less than 200 points. This applies to the main event only.
DISCLAIMER - By finishing we mean a player who plays all 4 rounds on XSN and has their score posted to XSN and XSNLinks.com. If you suffer the dreaded incomplete in any round while competing on XSN there is nothing we can do about that and any scores posted to XSN will not count as we will not count partial rounds in the final standings with one exception.
All players will be given 3 XSN mulligans to be used during the regular season only, no playoffs.
You may use one of the 3 at any time time during the season but only one per week. So if you have multiple Inc. in one week you can only use one of the 3. With the shorter season missing one whole week could be fatal to your ranking. As well the zero score for the inc. round will be factored into your on-going stroke average.
Say you shot -20,-20,-20, inc. Your score for the week for that event with the mulligan would 60 (20+20+20+0) divided by 4 or -15. For scoring you will be placed in the standings below the lowest finisher who did complete 4 rounds and receive points for that placing. Better than zero for sure.
All flight and stroke with cuts and zero skill events
1. 1000
2. 950
3. 900
4. 850
5. 800
Both Flight sections will be scored identically regardless of which flight you are in.
We do not believe you should be penalized for playing in
the lower flight and as such will award both Flight A and
B/C winners 1000 points. In addition the weekly winner of the B flight will automatically be placed in Flight A the next week, and the C flight winner will be placed in B Flight regardless of overall stroke average. This will give more players a chance to win each week and promote movement between flights as was intended from the start of this Tour.
Stroke with cuts players will be scored based on completion of the 4 round event with the winner receiving 1000 points and decreasing by 50 per place, although all who join will be credited 100 points for playing 2 rounds and not surviving the cut. Note if you join and DON'T play or quit in the middle of a round you will receive zero points, in fact we might take 500 points away from any who try that ;-). Nah, I'm kidding........
Zero skill winner will receive 1000 points with 50 point per place reduction to the limit of the field. Zero skill stroke scores will NOT be added to your weekly stroke average, but will be kept seperately and posted on the forum from time to time.
After the weeks events the rankings will be updated as
soon as we can, usually the next day. Invites to the Flight Tournaments will be sent as soon
as we've updated the stats to ensure you are invited to the correct event.
While we will make every effort to make your gaming experience
as much fun as possible (we play too) and to post correct score data if any dispute does arise The Commissioners' decision is ultimately final.
Finally have fun and shoot low...............
If you have any questions about scoring or the rules of
competition please ask on the XSNLinks.com forum!
